Head lice treatment
The LouseBuster™ head lice treatment is a revolutionary new way to kill head lice and their eggs without using pesticides or other chemicals. This breakthrough treatment uses only controlled heated air and clinical studies have shown that it is a very safe, fast and highly effective way to kill all stages of head lice – including lice eggs!
A trained LouseBuster Certified Operator™ performs the treatment by using a disposable applicator tip attached to the LouseBuster™ device to direct carefully controlled heated air against the hair roots and scalp where lice and their eggs typically are located. NO CHEMICALS ARE USED! An average of 30 minutes is required to make sure the whole scalp has been treated.
The LouseBuster Certified Operator™ will provide you with a Certificate of Treatment card after the treatment. You should make sure the Certificate you receive includes:
• The Operator’s certification number
• An original Proof of Authenticity sticker. For client cleanliness, this sticker certifies that a new, unused applicator tip was used for the treatment.
If a Certificate is not provided or of the proof of Authenticity sticker is missing, please contact Larada Sciences.
As with any other head lice treatment, after the LouseBuster™ treatment, our operators will comb out your hair with a fine-tooth louse comb, which will remove most of the dead lice and eggs as well as any unlikely but possible live lice that managed to survive. Depending on the thickness of the hair and the extent of the infestation, this comb out can take between 15 and 30 minutes.
Because the LouseBuster™ treatment is so effective on lice eggs there is no need to comb out every single one or to repeat the whole process a week later. This makes the whole experience relatively quick and efficient, providing less stress and concern to you, our customer.
The following graph illustrates why our customers prefer the LouseBuster™ treatment.

| We – as well as the National Pediculosis Association– do recommend that periodic combing with a louse comb after the treatment is done to guard against re-infestation and / or to make sure that all nits are removed if the school has a no-nit policy. So why do our customers prefer the LouseBuster™ treatment over any other treatment? |
Our customers have found traditional remedies against head lice - chemical shampoos, louse combs and home remedies –to be largely very time-consuming and ultimately ineffective. A LouseBuster™ treatment is science-based, fast, highly effective, safe (uses just heated air, no chemicals!), and leaves our customers with satisfaction that their infestation has been eliminated.
National Pediculosis Association President, Deborah Altschuler: “We can’t remove every potentially harmful chemical exposure from a child’s life, making it imperative to remove those that we can. The NPA is elated to see this invention become available. We appreciate Larada Sciences’ commitment to the research and successful development of a non-chemical, environmentally responsible treatment for children with head lice. We see it going a long way to help the NPA accomplish its mission to protect children from potentially harmful pesticidal treatments.”
Head lice are rapidly evolving chemical resistance to many of the traditional pesticide-based control methods, which have never been able to kill head lice eggs (nits) effectively and usually require repeated treatments. Louse combs can be effective for removing lice and eggs, but the comb out process can be very tedious and painful, and many busy parents do not have the time or patience for effective combing. In desperation, some parents resort to home remedies such as bug spray, mayonnaise or kerosene, but there is little hard evidence that these remedies are effective, and some home remedies can actually be harmful. As a result, parents and school authorities are searching for a safe, fast and effective treatment that will solve the problem and help keep children in or return them to school.
The LouseBuster™ head lice treatment provides exactly that: a safe treatment that is highly effective at not only killing the live lice but also their eggs thus making it a smart choice when dealing with head lice.

Head lice are common and anyone can get them. Larada Sciences recommends that you regularly check for head lice after an infestation and once or twice a month, especially when lice outbreaks are reported. Early detection, treatment, and removal are important for head lice control.
